Please see communication from Nepean Football in regards to the scheduled Roadshow event for tonight 19-3-2020

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, the information provided yesterday from our National Governing Body, and the number of people who have already withdrawn, it is with greatest apologies that Nepean Football Association are cancelling tomorrow nights scheduled Pre-Season Information Roadshow at Penrith RSL.

For those of you who may have missed the communication from the FFA, they advised that effective from 12:00am on 18 March 2020, all sanctioned grassroots football activity in Australia will be suspended until 14 April 2020.

The suspension applies to all sanctioned matches and competitions, including National Premier Leagues, FFA Cup, youth and grassroots football (including MiniRoos and futsal) as well as training and associated football related activities. In addition to this, Football NSW advised the association to avoid all unnecessary gatherings until further notice.

We would like to take the time to say thank you for your interest in our Roadshow and wish you a great 2020 season.

As you would be aware from recent media reports across the weekend and most recently this afternoon Coronavirus, COVID-19, has impacted Football on all levels.

The recent media release from Football Federation Australia ‘today advised that, after considered discussion with its nine State and Territory Member Federations and assessment of developments today, sanctioned grassroots football competitions and associated training as well as the NPL would be suspended for the next four weeks.’

The decision will take effect from 12:00am on Wednesday, 18 March 2020 until Tuesday, 14 April 2020.

The impact this will have on the running of St Clair United Soccer Club includes the following:

• All training will cease as of 12:00am Wednesday 18th March. Mark Leece ovals will remain closed and any training that does take place despite this directive will NOT be sanctioned or covered by insurance.

• All trial games scheduled for this coming weekend, 21st and 22nd of March will be cancelled.

• Photos that were scheduled for this weekend 21st and 22nd March will be rescheduled for another weekend in the season when competition resumes at the decision of Football Federation Australia (FFA), Football NSW (FNSW)and Nepean Football Association (NFA).

• The Coaches and Managers meeting scheduled for Monday 23rd March will also be rescheduled for a time that coincides with the new negotiated start of the 2020 season.

• At this stage the potential impact on the 2020 season will be 2 – 3 rounds, however we will not know the full impact until more information is received from Nepean Football Association.
